What 2022 affirmed about the value of diversity
If 2022 taught us nothing else, it affirmed that the diversity of projects we do is key to the thinking our current and future clients can rely on to help them achieve their goals.
At Healthy Environs, we live and breathe everything to do with helping to build healthy communities. From environmental to social to economic factors, influences on human health can be multifaceted and complex.
Just as every community is unique, so to are the projects we work on! 2022 was no exception. Here is just a snapshot of the work we are proud of supporting our clients in urban and rural locations across the country.
Co-designing the Northern and Yorke Drought Resilience Plan - working with the team at Edge Environment to embed health and wellbeing considerations.
Enhancing a Public Health and Wellbeing Plan for the City of Whyalla - in close consultation with community stakeholders and Councillors.
Enabling the Public Health and Wellbeing Plan for Wakefield Regional Council – helping them to review the state of community health in the region and shape a robust plan for the future.
Managing the Roxby Downs Community Hub and associated programs- proudly supported by BHP, we worked in partnership to welcome substantially greater numbers and many first-time visitors to this important community space.
Shaping the vision of an Innovation Hub - working closely with our client, BHP and community stakeholders, we helped to shape the vision of a soon to be launched venue to support aspiring small businesses, entrepreneurs and students in Roxby Downs.
Delivering an award-winning mosquito surveillance program for the City of Salisbury – our work involved surveillance to inform Council’s Mosquito Control program to focus it on priority areas for managing public health risks and nuisance caused by local mosquitoes.
Evaluating a remote youth mental health program – gathering and using quantitative and qualitative data including holding interviews more than 20 community stakeholders, to uncover the relevance and impact for its users.
Our team is passionate about authentically contributing to community life, and we take every opportunity to roll our sleeves up as well. (I personally enjoyed volunteering my time on a health service planning committee for the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network throughout 2022).
With community engagement, stakeholder partnership facilitation and project management in our toolkit, we’re confident we can continue to build partnership with our clients based on exceeding their expectations in 2023 and beyond.
For us, healthy communities and regions are inclusive, connected, sustainable, protected and vibrant. We can’t wait to see what community-building projects we’ll have the privilege of working on this year!
