We value support for tertiary students at Healthy Environs – the learning is a two-way street!

At Healthy Environs we’re delighted to give tertiary students an opportunity to gain work experience in their area of study. Right now, we’re pleased to have Asha Bainbridge on placement with us from the University of Southern Queensland. Now in her final semester of a Master of Science (sustainability and environment), Asha is “really looking forward to the opportunity to link new academic skills and knowledge to real-life projects within the consultancy and project management industry.”

With a passion for the environment and an extensive career as a clinical nurse, Asha’s well placed to contribute to Healthy Environs projects, which span both public health and sustainability. When asked why industry placements are so valuable, Asha said that “work experience opportunities are extremely beneficial to facilitate the transition from student to professional.”

University placements also have great benefits for business. Healthy Environs’ Director Sally Modystach, welcomes Asha’s motivation for improving environmental outcomes for human health…“Vocational placements are a great opportunity for students to apply their learning in our business. Students often bring fresh ideas to our projects. Alongside her studies and work as a clinical nurse, Asha’s also a volunteer with the Surfriders Foundation, so she’s shared great insights on engaging with community groups on environmental projects”.
