Review of the City of West Torrens Disability Access and Inclusion Corporate Plan 2019 –2021

The City of West Torrens engaged Healthy Environs to conduct a review of its Disability Access and Inclusion Corporate Plan 2019-2021 (DAICP), to inform the development of a new Council access and inclusion strategy. Community and stakeholder consultation was conducted over a two-month period and feedback was sought relating to three aspects of the DAICP:

  • Structure of the DAICP

  • Useability of the DAICP

  • Impacts of Council initiatives implemented within the life of the DAICP

Stakeholders engaged within the City of West Torrens included:

  • Council staff

  • Community members, (including those who are living with a disability)

  • Service and support organisations

Feedback from stakeholders was gained through a mix of surveys, phone interviews with a range of disability sector stakeholders and a review of previous community consultation data. Community members were engaged through Council’s ‘your say’ platform with surveys available in both standard print and easy read format.
